Linn County Leader, MO - August 1991: Amiel S. "Bud" Barrett, 71, rural Marceline, MO, died August 17, 1991, in the emergency roon at Pershing Memorial Hospital , Brookfield, MO. Funeral services were held August 19, 1991, at Bentley-Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, MO, with James Farris officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline, MO, with Military graveside rites. He was born July 25, 1920, at Marceline, MO, Son of Arthur Henry and Beatrice (Ray) Barrett. On December 10, 1945, he married Louise Caroline Smathers, at Canton, N. C. Mr. Barrett was a retired brick mason and had received his 25-Year Pin, from the Bricklayers Allied Craftsmen International Union. He was a Veteran of the U. S. ARMY, having served during World War II. Surviving are his Wife, Louise, of the home, in rural Marceline, MO; a Son, Arthur L. Barrett, of rural Marceline, MO; a Daughter, Marsha L. Cooper, of Kansas City, MO; a Brother, Orelin Barrett, of Marceline, MO; a Sister, Betty Slater, of Brookfield, MO; 2 Grandchildren, Eric Barrett and Julie Niemeier, both of Marceline, MO. He was preceded in death by his Parents; and a Sister, Bonnie Perrin.
