From a rootsweb file; b: 28 DEC 1888 in Pearsall, Frio, Texas, d/o William C. Herring & Martha Jane Pruett. SSDI has the birth year as 1893 and her age from her obituary points back to 1893 as well, but since her mother died in 1892, 1888 seems more likely. Ayres, 79, died Thursday, Jan. 25. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 26, in the First National Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Winegeart, pastor of the Haynesville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery here. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Leslie Miller of Haynesville; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
