Bio

Mary Magnuson, age 77, of Willard, OH went into the Lord's arms on August 22nd, 2021 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Mary was an angel on earth, who had a strong faith in the Lord, a caring heart, infectious laugh, and generous spirit. Mary was born in Genoa, Nebraska to Ted and Sophia Zoucha. Mary married Bob Magnuson on November 13, 1965 (Note 1965 on Tombstone). Bob's job with Pepperidge Farm would lead their family to Willard 42 years ago. If you knew Mary, you knew about her "girls". She was a loving mother to Lori (David) Baum, Sherri (Jim) Chaffins, Sophie (Dan) Zupsansky, and Cari (Larry) Mead. Mary was the biggest cheerleader to her grandchildren who affectionately called her Mema. Her big heart will be carried on by her grandchildren, Mitchell, Morgan, Lexi, Breyden, Greyson, Mattox, Holden, Laurel, Lea, and Gabe. She also had 4 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Calum, Kinsley, and Nehemiah. All whom love her deeply and will miss her presence in their life. Mary had a special friend of 13 years, Jim Claus. They had a deep love, humorous banter, and enjoyed many memories. A few were trips to Nebraska, playing Mr. and Mrs. Claus, spending time at the Moose, and so much more. Mary's sisters and brother were a huge part of her life. They spoke daily to share all aspects of their lives, discuss soap operas, or just chat. Her sisters Janet, Carol, Chrissy, and Betty will miss her and their phone calls dearly. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Sophia Zoucha; husband, Bob; daughter, Lisa; sister, Genevieve and brother, Kenny. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Stein Hospice. The family also asks that you have her memory live on by Living Like Mary - smile at a stranger, pay it forward, give a genuine hug, or any simple act to make someone feel special. Family and friends may visit at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, OH on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a funeral mass to follow at St. Francis Xavier Church on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr.
