She was born in Lehi, Utah, on Dec. 20, 1930, to Arnold Clifton Brems and Nessie Fox Brems. She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Eldon Newell Chandler in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 26, 1952. Esther served faithfully in a variety of church callings, among which were Relief Society president, Primary president and ward librarian. She spent the most number of years as the ward organist and was actively serving in this calling up to the time of her death. She made hundreds of quilts and dresses for humanitarian aid. Many people were recipients of her handmade cards and gifts. She loved to garden and was already planning her garden for this spring. She felt her greatest blessing was her family and was so proud of each one of her children and grandchildren. Esther is survived by her seven children, Jillyn (Ray) Moon of Eden, Idaho, Gaylen (Susan) Chandler of Wichita, Kan., Glade (Brenda) Chandler of Rupert, Idaho, Blake (Cheryl) Chandler of Woodbury, Minn., Kent (Ranae) Chandler of Heyburn, Idaho, Marnell (John) Dykes of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Travis (Jaymie) Chandler of Burley, Idaho. She is also survived by her brother, Orlo (Geraldine) Brems of Lehi, Utah; her sister, LeeAnn (Dennis) Peterson of Burley, Idaho; 33 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; her parents, Arnold and Nessie Brems; and her sister, KaeLynne Adams. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, at the Rupert LDS 1st Ward Church (the former Rupert Stake Tabernacle), 806 G St. in Rupert, with Bishop Mark Sanderson officiating. Burial will be in the Rupert Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St. in Burley, and from 10-10:45 a.m. Monday at the church.
