Bobby N. Merrill 16 September 1946 - 08 May 2013 Bobby Merrill JOPLIN, Mo. — Bobby N. Merrill , age 66, of Joplin, Mo., passed away May 8, 2013, following an extended illness. Bobby was born Sept. 16, 1946, in Galena, Kan., to Marjorie (Ford) and Raymond Merrill. Bobby graduated from Galena High School in 1964, and graduated from MSSU in Joplin, with a BS in 1994. He was employed for 22 years at Vickers Inc. He retired December 2012, from the Joplin School District. Bobby married Joan Mitchell May 28, 1982. She survives. Additional survivors include one son, Brian Mitchell and wife, Shannon(McBride) and their children, Zachary, Andrew and Jacob, of Bentonville, Ark.; sisters, Beverly Bruce and husband, Jan, of Riverton, Kan., Sharon Merrill, of Neosho, Mo., and Donna Anderson and husband, Larry, of Galena; and one brother, Bill Watkins Jr., of Ozark, Mo. Bobby was a member of the Galena Lodge No. 194 and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple, of Springfield, Mo. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Derfelt Funeral Home in Galena. Masonic rites will be held followed by the Rosary. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at St. Mary's Church in Joplin. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Mary's Church.
