Bio
Herbert L. Walker, 78, a native and resident of Robertsdale, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013. Mr. Walker was a graduate of Robertsdale High School. He had 41 years of sales experience: nine years with Woodhaven Dairy and 31 years with Frito-Lay. Mr. Walker received the Frito-Lay Excellence Salesmanship Award in 1990. He was an active member of Robertsdale United Methodist Church, serving as youth coordinator, Sunday school teacher, Men's Club officer, usher and several other capacities. Mr. Walker loved to go to the Smokey Mountains. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert O. Walker; mother, Helen M. Walker; brother, Randy Walker; and sister-in-law, Yvonne Walker. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marilyn M. Walker of Robertsdale; a brother, William L. Walker, Theodore; nephew, Gary ( Shannon) Walker of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 10 a.m., at Robertsdale United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Spining officiating. Burial will be in Baldwin Memorial Cemetery, Robertsdale. A visitation will be held Friday, from 6-8 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robertsdale United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 866, Robertsdale, AL 36567. Arrangements by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
