Elsie LeOra Giles Bowman Doyle 1908 - 1995 Elsie LeOra Giles Bowman Doyle, 87, died June 21, 1995 at Larsen's Nursing Home in Lehi following an extended illness. She was born February 10, 1908 in Heber, the daughter of John Thomas "M" and Elsie Jane Dayton Giles. She married John James Bowman July 28, 1925 in Devil's Slide, Morgan County Utah. Marriage was later solomnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He later died December 30, 1938. Married James Francis Doyle April 11, 1947. He died May 12, 1984. Survivors include two sons and five daughters: James Melvin and Joy Rae Bowman, Neldon J. and Shirley Rae Bowman, Mrs. Joseph W. (Marva) Mann, Mrs. Boots W. (LoAnn) Sorenson, Mrs. H. Allen (Loretta) Parker, all of American Fork; Mrs. Rhea B. Anderson of Layton; Mrs. Darrell (Marie) Jessen of Richfield; 36 grandchildren; 95 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; three step-children, Mrs. Jay (Donna) Shumway, Lindon; Nyle and Colleen Doyle, Manila; and Lee and Carroll Doyle, Clinton; two sisters-in-law, Viola Giles, Heber; Lavelle Platt, Burley, Idaho. Preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, one daughter, Ora, two son-in-laws, five grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Monday, June 26, 1995 at 11 a.m. in the American Fork West Stake Center, 165 No. 350 West. Friends may call at Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Lehi, Sunday 6-8 p.m. and at the stake center Monday one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Heber City Cemetery. - Deseret News | 23 June 1995.
