Parents: Father: Lutz Geneski Mother: Mary Spouse: Joseph John Gross Marriage: January 1927 Ord, Nebraska Rose Gross Rose Helen Gross, 93, of Boise, died Monday, March 31, 1997, in a Boise care center of natural causes. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 4, 1997, in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa at 10:30 a.m. Public viewing will be held today, Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Rose was born Sept. 29, in Elyria, Neb., a daughter of Lutz and Mary Geneski, who were Polish emigrants. She was the, sixth of ten children, who all lived and worked on the family farms. Rose attended elementary and secondary Schools in Ord, Neb., then furthered her education in Omaha, Neb. In January 1927, she married Joseph John Gross In Ord, Neb. They moved from Nebraska to Burley In 1936, and then to Nampa In 1942. Mr. Gross died May 30, 1960. Rose worked as a silk finisher and seamstress for Nampa Dry Cleaning & Laundry until retirement and then worked part time for another cleaner at Karcher Mall until it closed. She worked for a short time at Nampa State School, where she had a special talent working with a blind and deaf child. Rose loved gardening as shown by her large colorful garden and the beautiful flowers surrounding her home at 203 6th Ave. South in Nampa. She lived in this large home for 48 years, maintaining it and renting out two apartments until she was 89 years young. She was also very talented with a needle, her many quilts, pillows and dolls are precious gifts cherished by family, friends and acquaintances. She is survived by her three children, Marcella and husband, Charles Stuhr of Vacaville, Calif., Joan and husband, Cecil Gregory of Boise, and one son, Joseph Gross Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; ten grandchildren, three who were local and attended Boise schools, Gene Gregory, Gordon Gregory and Jennifer Rinaldi; and seven great-grandchildren. Rose was a hard-working, full-of-life woman, who loved her pets - especially her dog, April, who preceded her in death. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. "We all love you and will miss you, Rose."
