Bio
David D. Krajewski, 78, of North Platte, died May 6, 2005, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 17, 1926, at Ashton to Anton and Florence Gorecki Krajewski. He graduated from Omaha North High School in 1945 and later that year served in the U.S. Navy until his discharge in 1946. He returned to Nebraska and was united in marriage to Bernice Goc on Oct. 4, 1952, at Grand Island. Mr. Krajewski was employed by Union Pacific Fruit Express in both Omaha and North Platte for more than 45 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, a 50-year member of the Transportation Clerics Union, was a past commander and lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Veterans Association of the USS Iowa. Survivors include his wife, Bernice of North Platte; a son, Tony Krajewski of North Platte; three grandchildren, Joshua, KrissAnn and Jacob; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Angeline. Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment Fund. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with military honors graveside. Cremation was chosen. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
