DEATH'S SUDDEN CALL TO DEAR OLD M'KINNEY MOTHER MRS. BELLE HOWARD, 66, VICTIM SECOND ATTACK OF PARALYSIS. 30 o'clock last evening. Mrs. Belle Howard, mother of Mrs. Will B Miller, died suddenly at the latter's home, 1105 North Church street on the eighth day after she suffered the first stroke of paralysis with which she was afflicted on Thursday, April 26. The second attack was only of a few minutes duration when death relieved her of her suffering. Her sudden passing was a shock to her loved ones, neighbors and friends who considered her as improved from her first attack. However, she had been bedfast ever since the first stroke which occurred on the previous Thursday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock." Born In Tennessee. Miss Belle Angle was born August 21, 1861 in Sumner county, Tennessee, where she lived during the first fifteen years of her life, when her parents moved to Texas and settled in the Bethany community, five miles Northwest of Plano. She was the daughter of Marcus L and Erena (Jones) Angle, who moved to Texas in 1876, and landed at Plano. The deceased was married to William M. Howard. August 23, 1882 by Rev. Mr. Chalk, a pioneer Methodist minister. They settled on their farm in the Bethany community where they resided until 1906, when they moved to Plano, where her husband died in 1909. In 1945 she moved to McKinney where she resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Will B. Miller, during the remainder of her life. Mrs. Howard in early childhood professed religion and united with the Methodist church. She held her membership at the time of her death with the first church at McKinney. Mrs Howard loved her home and made an ideal wife and mother, lavishing her love and service up on her children and grandchildren and in her modest retiring disposition joyfully served her neighbors and friends about her in every way that she could. She was a devoted christian who reared her children in a truly christian home and atmosphere, giving to them, both the right example and proper training making of them the useful and esteemed citizens now that they are since they are established in homes of their own. Her heart went out in sympathy to the sorrowing and to those in trouble on account of either circumstances or physical suffering. She was happiest when she was doing for other. Now that she has gone, those whom she served, loved and who were beneficiaries of her loving ministrations during her lifetime are genuinely mourning over her passing. Her Children. She is survived by one son, Walter J. Howard. who holds a responsible position in Oak Cliff, Dallas; and two daughters, Mrs. Charles A. Emerson, of Dallas and Mrs. Will R Miller of McKinney. She is also survived by four grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: James L Angle, Allen; D. M. Angle, Cedar Hill, Texas; A. A. Angle, Woodson, Texas; John Angle, Duncan, Okla.: Grady Angle, Winnsboro, Texas; Mrs. E. E. Dean, Denton, Texas; Mrs. R. L. Howard, Plano, Texas and Mrs. J. W. Brown of McKinney. W. L. Brown, one of the tellers at the Collin County national bank and prominent McKinney Mason is her nephew. The Courier-Gazette . May 4, 1928. Page 1.
