Bio

The son of Anton John Pustejovsky and Helen Catherine Hykel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Michael J. Pustejovsky, 40, of Route 2, Abbott, executive vice-president of Inter-First Bank of Hillsboro, died Tuesday morning at a Waco hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, the Rev. William Spong as celebrant. Burial followed at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Mr. Pustejovsky was born December 15, 1946, in Hillsboro, and lived in the Abbott area most of his life. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Abbott. He was the first person to be baptized there. Mr. Pustejovsky was a member of the Abbott KJT, member and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305, member and past president of the West Columbus Club, and member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club. He was a graduate of Abbott High School and Texas A&M University. He was an executive vice-president and cashier of InterFirst Bank of Hillsboro where he had been employed since June 1970. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Pustejovsky; a daughter, Gale Pustejovsky of Abbott; a son, Greg Pustejovsky of Abbott; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Pustejovsky of West; three brothers, Bernard Pustejovsky and Anthony Pustejovsky, both of Abbott, and Joseph Pustejovsky of West; three sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Helen) Mach of Hillsboro and Mrs. Felix (Bernice) Picha and Mrs. Sam (Janice) Hurst, both of Waco. Pallbearers were Emil Pustejovsky, Jr., Billy Sustala, Jerry Kazda, Eugene Maroul, Kenneth Beene, Eugene Pustejovsky. Honorary pallbearers were Olin Dumas, Pat Dumas, Larry Zabcik, Tony Marley, Members of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305, Directors, officers and employees of InterFirst Bank of Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to an Educational Fund for the Pustejovsky children at the InterFirst Bank, PO Box 898, Hillsboro, TX. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
