Angeline Cox was daughter of Robert Morris Cox (same buried this cemetery), her first husband was John Wray Wrinkle, son Robert Wrinkle. She married William R. Cole after John died from complications of war injuries in 1865. I am great granddaughter of Robert Wrinkle. If there is any additional info on Robert M. Cox, I would like to have it. It was family folklore that he was Native American, but my research does not tell me so. I have traced him to born in North Carolina, but on a 1920 census of Angeline Cole, she states that father was born in Indian Territory. I know they were afraid to list heritage before 1900's. Odd finding. Anyway, any additional info would be helpful. Thank you for your work. I would like to add the grave photos to my family history, if that's okay. Thank you. Margie Robertson-Toone [email protected] -------------------------------------------- RE: Angie Cox Cole Charles, Row Thanks for responding. Here's a summary of 40 years of work on Robert M. Cox. If you wish I can send you documentation separately. I'll write this as a narrative but edit as you deem appropriate: Angie was born in 1841 in Covington Co., MS, the daughter of Robert M. Cox and Louisa Johnson Cox. (Note: there is no evidence that Robert's middle name was Morris or that he had Indian ancestry.) Robert was born about 1808 in Darlington Co., SC. as proven by records of his Confederate service from the National Archives. Robert and his father, William Cox, moved to Marion Co., MS between 1820 and 1830. By 1850 they were in Louisiana, Robert in Jackson Parish and William in Bienville Parish. Robert moved on to Natchitoches Parish by 1860 and later resided in Calcasieu Parish and different locations in Texas. He is buried in this cemetery. Louisa Johnson Cox died before 1860, either in Jackson Parish or Natchitoches Parish.
