OBITUARY: KINGSPORT Geneva Davidson Steadman, 81, of Sullivan Gardens, died at 5 a.m. Friday (July 22, 2011) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Geneva was a lifelong resident of the Kingsport area. She was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church. Her parents, Virgie and Echol Davidson; and a brother, Paul Davidson preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert N. Bob Steadman of Kingsport; three sons, Joe Steadman of Kingsport, Mark Steadman and wife, Jacqui of Johnson City and Jeff Steadman of Kingsport; two grandchildren, John Steadman and Samantha Steadman; two sisters, Loree Lucas and husband, Paul of Kingsport and Betty Harris of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Bob Davidson of Kingsport and Harry Kay Davidson of Charlotte, N.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport with Rev. Dale M. Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Depews Chapel Cemetery. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
