Bio

Anson, Tx. — Ronnie Richmond, 68, passed away Friday, April 19th at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, April 22nd from 6:30-8:00 at Adams-Graham Funeral Home in Anson. The memorial service will be Tuesday April 22nd at 2:00 at the Anson Church of Christ. Services will be officiated by long time friends Steve Lollar and Brooks Hagler, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home. Born July 5, 1944 in Matador, Texas, Ronnie was a son of the late E.D. and Maudine Richmond. He attended Turkey High School and graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas with a BS in Agriculture. Ronnie married Jimmie Dell Mayfield on June 12, 1962 in Quitaque, Texas. Ronnie and Jimmie moved to Anson, Texas in 1967 and Ronnie began to work for the USDA Soil Conservation Service. In 1973, Ronnie followed a life long dream of pursuing a career in farming. He spent the remainder of his life living his love of farming. He was well respected as a land manager, land developer, and agriculture entrepreneur. Ronnie was known for his strong Christian faith, his diligent work ethic, and his gifted ability to work land. Ronnie was deeply devoted to his family and friends. Ronnie served on the Anson school board, Anson economic development committee, Farmers CoOp Gin board, and served as a deacon and elder for the Anson Church of Christ. In 2004, Ronnie was awarded the Anson Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Man of the Year. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Jimmie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy Williamson (and husband, Scott) of Seymour and Mandy Welch (and husband, Pete) of Abilene; 5 grandchildren, Cade Williamson, Gage Williamson, Spencer Welch, Emma Williamson and Sutton Welch; a great- granddaughter, Paisley Williamson; and a brother, Lonnie Richmond.
