Walter Lee-Roy Krenek, 92, of Columbus, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Columbus Community Hospital. Walter was born in Lone Oak, Texas on January 17, 1921, the son of Michael and Maria (Kneblik) Krenek. He is survived by step daughter, Margie Dennis, of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Marie Beck of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law, Julius Kurtz and wife, Geraldine, of Columbus, Texas; and niece, Janine Denson and husband, Joel, of Clute, Texas; three grandchildren: Becky Holt and husband, Brandon; Kelly Toepperwein and husband, Evan; Christie Appleby and husband, Drew; three great grandchildren; two great nieces: Johnna Sharp and husband, Matt and Jana Matula and husband, Rodney. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose (Kurtz) Krenek; six sisters and three brothers.
