THE GRIM MONSTER MAKES SUDDEN CALL The people of Honey Grove were shocked beyond expression yesterday morning when they reached the square to learn that their townsman and friend, James H. Robnett, was no more, that almost in the twinkling of an eye this good citizen had been called from the vigor of health to the stillness of death. Mr. Robnett was on the square all day Wednesday pursuing his work of buying cotton. Having a large lot of cotton on hand for shipment, he worked until about 12 o'clock at night, getting his shipping lists in readiness, and in this work he was assisted by his wife. During the day he seemed to enjoy his accustomed health, and we are told that he made no complaint of illness prior to retiring, which was shortly after midnight. Early in the morning, about half-past 3 o'clock, he grew violently ill and a physician was summoned. The physician found Mr. Robnett was suffering from a severe attack of acute indigestion, and though he was very sick, the malady soon yielded to treatment and the sufferer, having been relieved, sank into a restful sleep. Mrs. Robnett also went to sleep. About 7 o'clock Mrs. Robnett was awakened by her husband making a strange noise, and, hurrying to him, found him breathing his last; in a minute he was dead. Truly, a sudden passage from the state we call life to the state we call death. Honey Grove Signal 11-23-1917 Added by: Malinda Allison on 11 May 2021
