Bio

A funeral service was held at the Kuncl Chapel here Monday at 2 p.m. for Edwin M. "Mac" Miller, who died last Friday in Crete. Mr. Miller was 79 years of age. He was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on January 7, 1874 and came to Nebraska with his parents when he was a small boy. After five or six years in Milford, the family moved to Crete when he was 10. Mr. Miller remained here the rest of his life. He was a painter. Mr. Miller was wed on December 9, 1899 to Stella Ireland. They were married 53 years. One child, a daughter, preceded Mr. Miller in death 28 years ago. He is survived by his wife; a grandson, William E. Danekas of San Francisco; two great grandchildren; three nieces, Mrs. Dorothy Mooberry of Crete; Mrs. Pearl Hroch of Wilber; and Mrs. Norma Keller of California; four nephews, Bud Miller of Crete; Glenn Miller of Lafayette, Indiana; Jim Hudson of Crete; Fred Beamis of Lincoln; and other relatives. Mr. Miller was a former member of the United Brethren Church with which he united as a young man. The Rev. Z.F. Meyer was in charge of the funeral service and burial was in Crete Riverside Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his daughter, his parents, a brother, and three sisters. Those attending the funeral from out-of-town included William Danekas of La Mesa, California; Mr. and Mrs. John Danekas of Milford; Mrs. Lillie League of Fort Dodge, Iowa; John Ireland of Clay Center; John Robinson of Akron, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. William Robinson of Geneva; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hroch of Wilber; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Robinson and daughter, Elaine; Mrs. Libbie Beamis and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beamis, all of Lincoln.
