Bio
Rick D. Egr, 66, Lincoln, formerly Valparaiso, was called home to his Heavenly Father March 6, 2013, while surrounded by his family. Born Oct. 22, 1946 in Wahoo to Emil and Geraldine (Koranda) Egr. Rick was raised on a farm near Prague until age 10 when he moved to Valparaiso. Married Linda Gros July 29, 1972 and together raised their family. Rick was a home builder and carpenter and took great pride in building and remodeling many homes around the Valparaiso area with his father (Emil J Egr and Son Construction) until Emil's retirement. Rick then worked as a superintendant at several construction companies, including 10 years at Weathercraft until his own retirement in 2011. Rick enjoyed the great outdoors and loved to hunt, camp, and fish. He found great joy spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Geraldine Egr; and infant son, David. Survivors include his wife, Linda Egr; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynette (Rodney) Elder, Kara (Kendall) Stege; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat (Ken) Draper, Sue (Ken) Horky; six grandchildren, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: 1-5 p.m. March 10, at Wadlow Rozanek Funeral Home, 424 Pine St., Valparaiso. Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Sts. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church, 601 Iver St., Valparaiso. Mass of Christian burial: lO a.m. March 11, at the church. Wadlow Rozanek Funeral Home of Valparaiso.
