Tamara "Tammy" Farris Gordon, 48, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Chapel Bible Church in the chapel. Private burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Tamara Lynn Farris was born Nov. 15, 1964, in Norman, Okla., to Thomas Lee and Linda Zodin Farris. She attended Fort Worth Country Day School and graduated from Arlington Heights High School. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.A. in business and was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. Tammy also attended St. Mary's University, where she received her law degree. After graduation from St. Mary's she was employed at Cantey Hanger Law Offices from 1989 to 1992. In 1992 she began practicing law with her father, Thomas Lee Farris, at Farris & Gordon and continued for over 20 years. Tammy was a board member of Casa Manana for several years, a regional president of Alpha Phi, a member of the American Lung Association of Texas, American Heart Association and National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was a volunteer at the Fort Worth Stock Show for over 25 years. Tammy was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her children, a wonderful daughter and sister. Tammy will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Craig Dearden and the kind and dedicated medical staff of doctors and nurses at Baylor All Saints Hospital for the care and attention they gave throughout her illness. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Lavaughn Zodin of Fort Worth, and her paternal grandparents, Neil and Maxine Farris of West Linn, Ore. Survivors: Daughter, Tara Farris Gordon; son, Thomas Patrick Gordon IV; mother, Linda Wynne and husband, Mike; father, Thomas Lee Farris and wife, Darlene; sister, Paige Chisholm and husband, Ed; nieces, Farris and Kaylee Chisholm; stepbrother, Steven Cullen; several uncles, aunt and cousins; her very special friend, Robert T. Morgan; and her beloved dog, Rock. Published in Star-Telegram on March 27, 2013
