Bio

William Otha Stanley was born December 8, 1914 in Texas, son of Alfred Allen Stanley (1881-1952) and Myrtle N. Elston (1889-1967). The 1920 Federal Census for Bruceville, Texas (McLennan County) shows Otha W. Stanley, age 5, born in Texas; living with his father, Alfred A. Stanley, a farmer, age 38, born in Alabama; and his mother, Myrtle V., age 30, born in Missouri. Also living in the household were William Otha's siblings: Ethel J. Stanley, age 12; and Jessie J. Stanley, age 10; both born in Texas. In addition, Myrtle's mother, Matilda J. Elston, a widow, age 62, born in Missouri, was living with the family.
