Services for W.W. Williams were held in the First Methodist Church in Bowie. As a tribute to the love and respect held for Mr. Williams, all of the businesses in Bowie were closed from 3:00 to 4:00 on Thursday for the funeral. Mr. Williams resigned as Justice of the Peace while serving his second term. His death came exactly one month after the death of his brother, H.V. Williams of Snyder. Mr. Williams came to Texas in 1884. He settled in Johnson County, later moving to Clay County where he married Miss Ida Phagan on 23 December 1886. While living in Newport he served as Justice of the Peace for several years. He moved to Bowie in 1918. Survived by his wife; five daughters - Mrs. M.E. Patterson, Mrs. Jim Pascho, Mrs. R.Q. Kennedy, Mrs. Paul Evans, Miss Alta Williams; five sons - V.P. Williams, J. Knox Williams, Dewitt Williams, Howard B. Williams, Aden Williams; eight grandchildren; one brother - T.W.
