Thanks to contributor #47466150 Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent March 1995 GENOA - Josephine B. Swalec, 90, of Genoa died Thursday, March 9, at Genoa Community Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Krakow. The Rev. Robert Nienaber will officiate. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be...at Bailey-Ramaekers Funeral Home in Genoa... Mrs. Swalec was born on Feb. 13, 1905, in Tarnov to Joseph and Mary (Tworek) Paprocki. She attended rural Nance County schools. She married Edward Swalec on May 20, 1924, at Krakow. They farmed in the Silver Creek and Genoa areas. Mr. Swalec died on March 24, 1959. Mrs. Swalec continued to live on the farm until 1989, when she moved to Country View Care Village in Genoa. Mrs. Swalec was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Krakow and the Altar Society. Survivors include one daughter, Lillian (Mrs. John) Kaup of Genoa; three granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Felix Paprocki of California and Berney Paprocki of Silver Creek; and four sisters, Anna Borowski of Grant, Minnie Stopak of LaFeria, Texas, Barbara Gall of San Diego, Calif., and Theresa Zocholl of Columbus. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Paprocki; one sister, Lillian Wahl; and three infant siblings.
