Daniel Lee Sicking was born on 18 June 1953 to Lawrence John Sicking 1917-1993 and Marcella Marie Bezner 1931-2013. His parents divorced when he was young and Marcella remarried Alfred Charles Martin in 1965. Daniel's full younger brother was Richard Glenn Sicking 1955-1993. His step-brother was Alfred Larry Martin 1951-2003. All the children assumed the last name Martin after Alfred and Marcella married in 1965.
