Bio

Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Saturday 12 September 1964 Mrs. Pearl Addie Biship, 81, died at a Grand Island nursing home Friday afternoon. Funeral services are pending. Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home will be in charge. Mrs. Bishop, daughter of Wilhelm and Fredricka Winters Stange, was born Oct. 21, 1882, near Peoria, Ill. The family came to Hall County in 1887. She and Elmer E. Bishop were married at Grand Island. They resided in Cairo and then on a farm east of Cairo. In 1921 they moved to Grand Island to 804 West 12th, where Mrs. Bishop resided until a few months ago. Mr. Bishop died in 1931. Mrs. Bishop was employed at Hotel Yancey for 20 years. She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and Royal Neighbors Camp 825 of Cairo which presented her with a 50-year pin in 1959. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harold Frost of Grand Island; three sons, Ralph, Oakland, Calif., Marvin of Grand Island and Vernon of Chicago, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Effie Church of Grand Island; and a brother, Harry Stange of Cairo.
