Bio
Mildred Rice Warman, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Celebration of life: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at University United Methodist Church, 2416 W. Berry St., Fort Worth, with a reception to follow. Entombment: Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Mildred was a woman of unwavering faith with a gentle spirit and smile. She was a native Texan, born in 1921, in Birdville, and grew up in the big city of Dallas. She was a graduate of Dallas Technical High School where she studied commercial art and drafting. She worked as a commercial ad artist and was a draftsman during World War II with Texas Utilities. During this time, she was a member of Dallas Women's Service Club going to military bases for dances. Friends introduced Mildred and Howard. They began 58 years of married life in Dallas and raised their family in El Paso, Carlsbad, N.M., Odessa, and Fort Worth. She taught church kindergarten and was active in Methodist Women everywhere they lived. She was a dedicated member of University United Methodist Church, its Clarke Class and Super Adults for over 40 years. She returned to the workforce at the age of 50 and retired from the city of Fort Worth Water Department as a technical draftsman. She was a loving role model to her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard. Survivors: Children, Cindy Crouse, James Warman, Debra Warman, and Lisa Rodriguez and husband, Tony; grandchildren, Tony Jr. and Cindy Rodriguez, Stephanie Cortez, and Robert, Richard and Ryan Warman; and great-grandchildren, Ivy De Luna, Melanie, Jason Jr. and Izaac Cortez, Colt and Reidan Warman, and Jaxon Rodriguez.
