Bio
Vernon Juanita Stapp, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, February 22, 2009, after a long battle with her illness. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. EST Wednesday, February 25th, in Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191). A private graveside service will follow Thursday. Memorials may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308. A native of Birmingham, Ala., she made Tallahassee her home in 1963. She was a member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mom and friend to all who knew her. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Stapp (wife Laura) of Birmingham; her daughter, Micky Skipper (husband Steve) of Quincy; six grandchildren, Stacy Bailey (Joe), Ginger Stapp, Mikel Stapp, Roni Ayn Mahon( Michael), Brian Searcy Ashlee) and Amy Searcy; ten great-grandchildren, Joey Bailey, Jacob Bailey, Joshua Bailey, Ashley Bradford, Ian Briggs, Colby Kinsey, Brittany Kinsey, Savannah Stapp, Carter Skipper, Henry Searcy and Ella Mahon, and Harrison Searcy, due in April. Family would like to thank her caregivers at Broadview Assisted Living, Miracle Hill Nursing Home and Big Bend Hospice for their love and support given to Mrs. Stapp during her illness.
