Services for Mr. E. J. Gauthier, Jr. will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2004 in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church with Father Dan O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria. Mr. Gauthier, 86, of Alexandria died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 in Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from Beadles and Wright Food Brokers in Shreveport. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lottie Gauthier; son, Wayne Gauthier; parents, Edley Joseph Gauthier, Sr. and Carrie Guillot Gauthier; brother, Burton Gauthier; sister, Saddie Dazzo. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Delores Mathews Gauthier of Alexandria; daughter, Linda G. Gauthier and her husband, Muriel of Alexandria; stepsons, Jimmy Dupree of Alexandria, Jeffrey Dupree of Haughton; step-daughters, Loretta Lyons of Alexandria, Sandra Thompson of Alexandria, Carol Shoals of Bossier City, Pamela Acker of Kilgore; grandchildren, Steven Gauthier and his wife, Robin of Pineville, Terry Garrett of Youngsville, Tim Gauthier and his wife, Missy of Alexandria and Holly Thibodeaux and her husband, Joshua of Carencro; twenty-eight step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Christian wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel Hixson Brothers, Alexandria. Friends may call Wednesday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until shortly before service time. Memorials may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, Research, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive, Tucson, Arizona, 85718.
