Bio

December 22, 1924 – March 3, 2013 Norma Faye Boriskie, 88, of Bryan, passed Sunday March 3, 2013 at Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Houston. Visitation was held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Thursday March 7, 2013at the funeral home with Reverend Rick Sitton and Reverend David Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow at College Station City Cemetery. Norma was born December 22, 1924, to Lillie Beatrice Brown and Rista E. Stogner in Athens, Texas. She graduated from Athens High School and soon moved to Ft. Worth to help build U.S. Bombers in an Airplane Factory. After the war, she became a Cosmetologist and worked as a hairdresser until she met and married Robert O. Boriskie, a Navy man and former Prisoner of War in Japan during World War II. After Bob's return from the Navy, he and Norma moved to Bryan in 1950. She immediately became an Aggie Fan. Together, they purchased and opened the Texas Coin Exchange where she worked, becoming an engraver, and adding trophies to their store. She and her husband retired in 1979. Norma was a member of the auxiliary for the VFW Post 4692, the American Legion Post 159 in Bryan, and the Gulf Coast Chapter of Ex-POW's. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Bryan, the Neighborly Class, Caring for Others, the United Methodist Women, and Prime Timers, all at First United Methodist Church. She was passionate about Crocheting and made many gifts for the V.A. Hospitals, Caring for Others, as well as special gifts for family and friends during Christmas and other occasions. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Robert O. Boriskie in 1996; three brothers, Raymond B. Stogner, Arnold Stogner, Foy Stogner; and one sister, Jeana Cumbie. She is survived by four sons, Ted Boriskie, of Bryan, Mike Boriskie of Bryan, Barry Boriskie of Austin, and Roy Boriskie of Bryan; four grandchildren, Chelesa Boriskie, Jerret Roy Boriskie, Dylan Hoecker and his wife Chrissy, and Liana Boriskie; and three great-grandchildren.
