Son of Lemuel Burch of North Carolina and Quinne Griggs of North Carolina or Georgia. ~ WILLIAM BURCH DIES AT WYLIE William Berry Burch, 82 years and one month old, died at his home near Wylie Friday. Mr. Burch was born In Davidson county, Tennessee, Sept. 11, 1830. He was married to Miss Wealthy T. Lewis, in that state Oct. 1, 1865. To this union twelve children were born, nine boys and three girls, five of whom died in infancy. Those left to mourn their father's death are: T. C. Burch of Wylie, L. C. Burch of Greenville, Eugene Burch of Dallas, Mrs. J. W. Biggs of Lucas, Miss Ethel Burch of Snyder, Miss Bessie and Lee Burch, who are still at home with their aged mother. Mr. Burch moved to Texas with his family January 11, 1881. He lived near Lucas two years, then moved to his present home, where he had since lived, with the exception of four years during which time he resided at Wylie. He professed faith early in life and united with the Baptist church. He was a faithful and devoted Christian, a loyal citizen, a good neighbor and a faithful and loving husband and father. He was a member of the Masonic order, the burial being under the auspices of this organization. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church at Wylie Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. B. Snider of this city, assisted by the pastor, Rev. Akin. Besides his aged companion and children, be leaves twenty-five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. The interment was made at Wylie.
