Bio

The Courier Times, New Castle, Henry Co., Ind., October 10, 1953 Samuel Scott, Dies; Was 81 Served As Justice Of Peace Here. Samuel F. Scott, 81, former New Castle resident, died this morning in the Randolph County Hospital in Winchester, following an illness of one week. A postal employee at Muncie from 1900 to 1920, Mr. Scott had lived in New Castle for 15 years and served as Justice Of Peace for 12 years, He had also lived in Mooreland for 16 years before moving to Windsor. He was a member of the First Nazarene Church. Survivors include the widow, Antha, near Windsor; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Chambers, Tugunga, CA; two sons, Everett of Pasadena, CA and Kenneth, of New Castle; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at the Main and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Lacy and Rev. C.E. Griffith, will officiate and burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Daleville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
