Bio

' Frank Adolf Vlacilek was born on June 7, 1937 in Ennis, Texas, the son of Frank Joseph "Joe" Vlacilek (1911–1975) and Louise Evalyn (Vrzalik) Vlacilek (1911–1999). After graduating high school, he joined the US Army and served for 20 years during which time he suffered combat wounds in Vietnam and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts. Upon retirement from the Army, he and his family settled in Orange County, California and lived the remainder of his life in Anaheim. He worked for the County of Orange and retired after 20 years. He also worked for the City of Anaheim as a part-time security guard. When not working, and after his final retirement, Frank enjoyed fishing and taking cross country motor trips with his wife, and he was a loving and very devoted family man. Frank was 75 years old when he passed away at home on February 26, 2013 after a 17-year battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Survivors included his widow, several daughters and a son and their families. He also extended his heart to his wife's family in California and Indiana and over the years became Grandpa and Papa to many other "family" members. He was also survived by his two nieces and their families in Texas. Memorial Services were held on March 6th at Hilgenfeld Mortuary in Anaheim, and burial was in Riverside National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
