Bio

Mrs. Sue York, Former Resident, Buried Saturday Funeral services were held Saturday, August 18th at 8:45 for Mrs. Sue York, who had passed away Thursday at a Nursing Home in Rosenberg. Rev. Wm. Killian officiated at the Requiem high mass at the Assumption Catholic Church. Interment was in the Edna Cemetery. Pallbearers were Louis Malcik, Fred Boepple and C. F. Spencer of Ganado, O. B. Fenner, Claudius Branch and Herbert Melton of Edna. Mr. and Mrs. York were married many years ago in Edna, and moved to Ganado. Mr. York passed away 26 years ago, and she continued to make her home there until nine years ago when she moved to Wharton. Bad health forced her to give up her home, and for the past two years she had been in the nursing home. Survivors are Phil Kleas and a nephew, Verdrie Kleas of Houston. Edna Herald , August 23, 1962
