Bio

A funeral service for Opal Richardson, age 97, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013, with Rev. Al Davis and David Alcorn officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with David Alcorn, Anthony Alcorn, Bryan Bell, Rodney Crowson, Dennis Hill and Dirk Richardson serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (1:00 p.m.). Opal Richardson passed awayWednesday evening, February 27, 2013 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Dike on September 2, 1915, the daughter of John Edward Young and Isabell (McCann) Young. She married Rev. L. E. Richardson in Dike on January 2, 1932. He preceded her in death in 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Family Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Alcorn and Lanie of Yantis, Barbara Brown and Jay of Sulphur Springs; son, Jerry Richardson and Loretta of Royse City; grandchildren, Rodney Crowson, Rebecca Huckabee, Anthony Alcorn, David Alcorn, Melinda Bell, Bryan Bell, Terese Marsland, Heather Brown, Dennis Hill, Keri Rodriquez, Shannon Richardson and Dirk Richardson; great-grandchildren, Adam, Jason and Micah Huckabee, Shelby Crowson, Tanner, Kai, Phoenix and Beau Alcorn, Johnny and Kaylee Bell, Bruno Tibola, Nathan Marsland, Brenna Robnett, Strider and Trevor Rodriquez and Isabella Troquille and great-great-grandchild, Aiden Huckabee. She was preceded in death by daughter, Patsy Bell; sisters, Thelma Voss, Ailene Reeves, Gladys Eppars, Floy O'Shields and Kitty Buchannan and brothers, Odell Young and Guy Ernest Young. Memorials may be made to Grace Family Church, P.O. Box 898, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482. Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
