Bio

Bob was the son of Joseph and Delpha Clipston. He married Inamae Chambers. Dec 18, 1997 - Algona Upper Des Moines - LIVERMORE—Funeral service for Earl "Bob" Clipston, 85, of Livermore, was conducted by the Rev. Steve Bibb at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 1997 in the United Methodist Church at Livermore. Interment was in the Union Cemetery at Livermore, the Wilson Funeral Home of Livermore in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Brent Foth, Bruce Foth, John Morey, Jerry Lane, Randy Hinton, and Roger Collins. "Bob" Clipston died Tuesday, Dec. 9, (1997) in the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, Humboldt. Earl Clipston, the son of Joseph and Delpha Stitt Clipston, was born March 19, 1912 near Farragut, IA. After attending country school and then Farragut High School, he was employed as a tractor mechanic for International Harvester in Shenandoah. On May 20, 1940, he married Inamae Chambers in Albion, NE. They made their home in Shenandoah until 1941, when they moved to Tacoma, WA, where he worked for a trucking company. In 1945, they returned to Shenandoah and moved to Livermore in 1962 where he was employed at Foreman Implement. Later, he was employed at Corwith and Bancroft Implement. After retiring in 1974, he continued to do mechanical repair work at home. He was a member of the United Methodist Church where he served on several committees, and a member of the Friends and Neighbors Club of Livermore. He enjoyed gardening, boating and traveling. Bob is survived by his wife, Inamae; three daughters, Beverly Jane, Mrs. Lloyd Hulbert of Mingo; Shirley Elaine, Mrs. Richard Kemna of Minneapolis, MN; and Louise Anne, Mrs. Gary Clabaugh of Dolliver. There are eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Elmer Clipston of Red Oak, and two sisters, Marjorie Walter of Omaha, NE, and Stella Erhart of Westport, WA. Preceding him in death were his parents; twin sons, Alva and Alvin; five brothers, Ed, John, Frank, Paul and Floyd; and two sisters, June Petersen and Ada Kralik.
