Kelly Garrett Kelly Eugene "Buddy" Garrett, 80, passed away Feb. 1, 2013, in Twin Sisters, Texas. Mr. Garrett was born in El Campo. He was the son of Jacob S. and Maria Tyson . He was preceded in death by his parents; his biological father, Robert Garrett ; and a stepsister, Lottie Oldham . He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth "Beth" Garrett of Twin Sisters; son, Kelly E. Garrett and wife Jessi of Twin Sisters; daughter, Mary Harris of Glendale, Ariz.; four sisters, Laverne Gresham of Mission Valley, Texas, Joyce James of Sunrise Beach, Texas, Sue Locust of Tucson, Ariz., and Lue Schupe and husband Donnie of Spirit Lake, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Buddy proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Texas Department of Transportation. Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 7, 2013, at Twin Sisters Cemetery.
