Bio

Granddaaughter of Martha Bates McGill Lola Catherine Flint, 92, of Texhoma, died, Thursday, October 27, 1994 in the Dumas Nursing Center. She was born in No Man's Land which is now the Oklahoma Panhandle on May 01, 1902. Except for 10 years in her youth and the last few months, she lived her life in Texhoma. She attended the Sunny Side School and earned her teaching certificate from Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell in 1922. She taught school north of Texhoma at North Fork School until she married her late husband Fay Flint in 1924. She and her husband lived on their farm northwest of Texhoma until they moved to town in 1937. She was an active member and taught Sunday School in the Texhoma First Methodist Church. She was a Member of the Texhoma Chapter of Eastern Star for over 50 years, an active member of demonstration clubs for over 40 years and a member of the Texhoma Historical Society. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Latham of Amarillo, her son, William Flint of Benbrook, Texas; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack of Granbury, Texas and two sisters, Addie Willoughby of Norwalk, Calif. and Bessie Johnson of Vancouver, Wash. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31st, 11 a.m. at the First Methodist Church in Texhoma with Rev. Dyton Owen officiating. Interment will be at the Texhoma Cemetery under the direction of the Dawson Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma. Memorials may be made to First Methodist Church of Texhoma.
