James Edgar Harris, 77, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Mr. Harris was very active in the Moose Lodge. He was a retired master sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his son, Gerald D. Harris. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brookshire Harris; sons, James Edgar Harris Jr. of Chester, Va., Thomas S. Harris of El Paso, Texas, and Jeffrey S. Anderson of Palm Springs, Calif.; daughter, Pamela Horrell of Raleigh; sisters, Myrtle Gibson of Pioneer, Tenn., and Linda Eiland of Sanford, Fla.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
