Weldon Pruitt Lubbock Avalanche-Journal Published: Monday, April 03, 2000 FLOYDADA (Special) Services for Weldon Pruitt, 60, of Floydada will be at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Anthony Sisemore, pastor of First Baptist Church of Floydada, officiating. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada. He died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Mangold Memorial Hospital in Lockney. He was born on Aug. 14, 1939, in Lynn County. He attended schools in Southland and Slaton and he graduated from Floydada High School in 1957. He moved to Floyd County from Slaton in 1956. He married Jane Tye on Jan. 10, 1960, in Floydada. He was a lifelong farmer and was on the Floydada School Board for nine years. He was a board member of Producers Elevator, Consumer Fuel Association and Floyd County Livestock Association. He was a member and a deacon of First Baptist Church of Floydada. Survivors include his wife; a son, Greg of Rotan; two daughters, Karen Walton of Lubbock and Christy Parker of Richardson; a sister, Wanda Hogue of Wimberley; and seven grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
