LORETTA MAZANEC COLBY - Loretta Mazanec, 73, Colby, died Monday, March 18, 2002. Mrs. Mazanec was born Loretta Laverenz on Nov. 14, 1928, in Highland. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by an infant son and a grandchild. Survivors include her husband, Albin of Colby, five sons, Albin Jr. of Marienthal, Jerome, Victor and John, all of Colby and Leon of Larkspur, Colorado, three daughters, Rita Simons and Janice Baker, both of Marienthal and Donna Harmison of Dighton, a brother, John Laverenz of Burlington, Colorado, two sisters, Ruthanna Falk of Robinson and Rosetta Bremenkamp of Gem and 22 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Colby. A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Kersenbrock Funeral Home, 745 S. Country Club, Colby 67701. Memorials may be made in her name, in care of any Colby bank or the funeral chapel.
