Son of John Frank & Veronica Frances (Torczon) Liss. Occupation: Catholic Priest and went by the name of Father Adrian. 5-28-1938 Ordained by Bishop Paul Peter Rhode in Green Bay, WI. 5-30-1938 Celebrated his first mass at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan, NE. ∼ Attended parochial school in Duncan, Nebraska, and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in Sturtevant, Wisconsin in 1930. Entered the Franciscan Order at Assumption Monastery Novitiate, Pulaski where he was invested in the Franciscan habit on Aug. 14th. He then attended St. Francis College, Burlington, Wisc. from 1931-1935, earning a B. A. On August 15, he made his solemn vows. From 1935-1939 he studied theology at St. Mary of the Angels Seminary in Green Bay, Wisc. and was ordained to the priesthood on May 28, 1938. He celebrated his First Mass at St. Stanislaus Parish in Duncan, Nebraska. Provincial assignments included Assumption parish, Pulaski in 1939 and St. Paschal Friary, Toledo, Ohio, 1939-1941 serving as vice-superior of St. Paschal Friary from 1941-1944. He spent a year at St. Bernardine Friary, Grand Rapids, Michigan, then was appointed disciplinarian at St. Bon's High School at Sturtevant, Wisc., where he served from 1945-52. He then held the same post at St. Anthony High School, Watkins Glen, N. Y from 1952-1954; then severed at St. Anthony Friary, Ben Avons, Pa., where he was superior at the time of his death. He died July 2, 1959 after a serious illness and was hospitalized for two months.
