Bio

Alleen J Sims, of Garland, Texas, passed away Wednesday night, May 8, 2013 at 10:30 p.m., after a battle with Alzheimer?s and Parkinson?s. Alleen is survived by her four children, Joan Higgins (Kenneth) , Debbie Evans, Bill Hailey (Beth) and Brenda McBrayer (R.C.); ten grandchildren, Charles Higgins (Holly), Colinda Holbrook (Stoney), Trisha Warren, Brian Evans (Alisha), Ryan Hailey (Kristin), Lyndsey Hailey, Leanne Gaston, Steven McBrayer, David McBrayer (Katherine), Randy McBrayer (Kelly); 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and three on the way; two sisters, Lula Parks and Oletha Chamness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Sims, her parents, Calvin and Hazel Lary and all of her brothers and sisters except two, as well as one grand- daughter, Belinda Sanchez. Alleen was well loved and cherished by all her family and friends. She just naturally loved everyone she met and they loved her. She will be greatly missed.The family will receive friends and family at a visitation to be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in McKinney, 601 S Tennessee St. McKinney 75069. A service to celebrate Alleen?s life will take place immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James Hilton and Rev. Robert West will be presiding. Burial will take place following the service at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney.
