Married Dec. 31, 1933. ∼ Mary Roberts, 96, of Baytown was born March 7, 1912 in Florence and passed away Thursday, January 1, 2009 in a Deer Park healthcare facility. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and was an incredible seamstress, even making wedding dresses. She was involved in many organizations, including scouting, P.T.A., church choir, hospital auxiliary and too many others to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Beatrice Atkinson and husband, Vernon Roberts. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Annette Roberts of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Mike Lightfoot of Canajoharie, NY; sisters, Billie Fern Goertz of Arkansas, Jacquita White of Fort Worth, Elizabeth Sawyer of Florence and Sybil Faught of Austin; grandchildren, Cinnamon White and Autumn Kraak, both of Martha's Vineyard, MA and Aaron Lightfoot of Lebanon, PA; and three great grandchildren.
