Christina F. Lake, 88, died on August 18, 2012 in El Paso, Texas. Born in Nebraska, Christina moved to El Paso and became the bride of Emerald Lake. She is survived by daughters Frances, Louise, Mary Kastl (husband) Bruce Jones; grandchildren, Sylvia Burcham (husband) Jay, Jennifer Katsch (husband) DJ Johnstone & Clayton Katsch; and great grandchildren Megan, Hunter, & Abbie Burcham. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and loving friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Frances; brothers, Victor, Ted & Ernest (wife) Christine (son) Vincent; sisters, Mary Bongers (husband) Joseph; and Sylvia House (husband) Milton; Emerald (husband), Larry (son), & Eliot Jones (grandson). Christina's passion for our Lord was evidenced by service in the Rosary Alter Society and The Legion of Mary. She was instrumental in establishing The Legion of Mary in the El Paso diocese. She was committed to serving as jail minister, youth minister, and community outreach. You might be in possession of a rosary hand-crafted by Christina, as she created thousands. A highlight of Christina's life was serving as a Eucharistic minister at the 1987 mass of Pope John Paul II in San Antonio. Published in El Paso Times from August 22 to August 29, 2012
