Bio

Grand Island (Independent) Nebraska Saturday, 5 June 1971 Mrs. Cora F. Fries, 84, of Forestville, Calif., died Friday in California. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Tout officiating. A former resident of Grand Island and Alda until 1956, when she moved to California, she had been in failing health for the past three years. Visitation hours are from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home and burial is in the Grand Island Cemetery. She was born Sept. 23, 1886, in western Hall County to Mr. and Mrs. William George. She was married to Henry Fries at Omaha on April 3, 1949. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the World War I Auxiliary. Mrs. Fries is survived by her husband, Henry; three sons, Bud Wonderling of College City, Calif., Arlie Conner of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Wilbur Conner of Denvery, Colo., and a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Hazel) Lottes of Bradshaw. One daughter, Cleo Roberts, preceded her in death.
