His mother died when he was 6 years old. Jesse then assumed the role of "big brother" to his younger brother and sister. He was a very caring person and earned the love and respect of all who knew him. He was always very busy. His first job was delivering for the corner drug store. He also liked to work on anything mechanical. He spent a lot of time taking his bicycle, motorcycle and then his car apart to see how they operated. He has always been a good friend to everyone. We will all miss him terribly. by niece Sandra Lee Jeffers Gray Uncle Jess was a very special man - one who loved his family and was always doing something for someone else. He also loved to fish and spend time outdoors. No one had a better sense of humor and we will miss his story telling and his wonderful smile. He loved little children and they loved him. All who knew him will miss a really great friend. by great-niece Terri Lee Gray I have many fond memories of Uncle Jess. He was kind, intelligent, generous and very funny. He could make the most ordinary story come alive and make you laugh and laugh. I believe it is a gift to make others smile and laugh and Uncle Jess always did just that. I treasure those memories of him and will always love him.
