Helen Arnold WHITESBORO - Funeral services for Helen Arnold, 84, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery near Sandusky. No formal visitation will be held, but friends can stop by the funeral home for viewing. Helen passed away in the early hours Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2013 at Texoma Healthcare in Sherman, Texas. She was in the Rehab care of the home healing from a recent injury. Helen was born on Aug. 17, 1928 in Tioga, Texas to John and Agnes Bedrick. She grew up on a rural farm with five siblings. She attended the Sherman Beauty School and earned her hair stylist license as a young woman. She married Royce Arnold on Sept. 11, 1954 in Sherman, Texas. They were married 54 years before his passing on Feb. 12, 2008. Helen was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro, Texas. Helen was a "stay at home" mom who enjoyed cooking, fishing at Lake Texoma, and gardening. Even in her 80s, she was still trying to mow her grass at home. She liked being at home. Survived by son, Robert Royce Arnold, Jr. of Sherman/Bonham, Texas; daughter, Teresa and husband Dwane Ballard of Celina, Texas; and one grandchild, Janie Ballard of Celina; one brother, Gene Bedrick and wife, Geneva of Cartwright, Okla.; sisters-in-law, Betty Bedrick of Tioga, Texas and Dolly Bedrick of Odessa, Texas and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Royce Arnold, Sr.; her parents, John and Agnes Bedrick; and siblings, two sisters and two brothers. The family wishes to thank Helen's home health caregivers, Whitesboro/Pilot Point Home Health, Dr. Benson of Sherman, Texas and the Grayson Meals on Wheels volunteers for their kindness and care to Helen.
