BORN in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Listed on daughter's birth and censuses match along with siblings Mary was buried in AL, but there is a stone for her next to her husband, Clayton's, grave in Ridgewood Cemetery in Council Bluffs IA Obituary: TUSCALOOSA Mary Johanna Christiansen, age 100, of Tuscaloosa, died May 16, 2009. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Ron Wilson officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Her husband, Clayton Christiansen; her parents; three sisters; four brothers; grandson, Billy Kempster; and granddaughters, Connie Kempster Hughes and Donna Kempster Bill, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Kempster Ephraim of Tuscaloosa; grandchild, Robert Kempster (Joan) of Tuscaloosa; six great-grandchildren; eight great –great grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are employees of Amedisys Hospice, employees of Hospice of West Alabama, and a very special friend, Geneva (Shorty) Ray. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama. Published in Tuscaloosa News on May 17, 2009.
