Son of Julius Francis Hite and Mary Elizabeth (Ketshen) Townley. (Spanning The River, Vol 2, by Dewey Co., OK. Hist. Soc. 1978, p. 292) Albuquerque Journal, Albuquerque, NM, Thurs., Feb. 16, 1978, p. 82 (Newspapers.com image 157859556): "HITE -- John Alfred Hite, 84, a resident of Milan, NM, died early Tuesday morning in an Albuquerque hospital. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Hite of Milan; six daughters; four sons; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, E. P. Hite, of Lincoln, Ark.; and his sister, Arrena Robinson of Putman (sic, Putnam), Okla. Graveside services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Socorro Cemetery, Socorro, with the Rev. J. D. Wright officiating, and interment following. ...French Mortuary...is in charge of arrangements."
