Irene (Polasek) Schielack, 78, of La Grange, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013. Irene was born in Fayetteville, Texas on November 27, 1934, the daughter of the late Clement and Esther Lena (Baumbach) Polasek. Irene married Edward "Birdy" Schielack on February 13, 1952 in La Grange, Texas. Irene was a dental office receptionist and retired after 46 years. She enjoyed traveling to the various casinos to gamble. Many of her precious moments spent with her grandchildren were teaching them her winning gambling secrets. She loved and cherished her family. She is survived by her husband, Edward "Birdy" Schielack, of 60 years; three sons: Richard "Ricky" Schielack and wife, Gayle; Ronald "Ronnie Schielack and wife,Bonnie; and Brad Schielack and wife, Kay all of La Grange, Texas; six grandchildren: Stuart Schielack and wife, Myste; Greg Schielack and wife, Amy; Brandon Schielack and wife, Britney; Matt Schielack and wife, Liz; Alex and Trent Schielack; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Heath Schielack; and infant great granddaughter, Madison Schielack. (Koenig and Strickland Funeral Home)
