Bio

Lily "Myrl" Moenk, 87, went to be with the Lord and her late husband Andrew Moenk on January 31, 2013. She was born on June 28, 1925, in Marshall County, Oklahoma to Joe and Grace Hamlett. Myrl and Andy began farming in the 1950's. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Wellton, where she was a Sunday School teacher and active in the Vacation Bible School program. She was a member of Yuma Regional Medical Center's Women's Auxiliary for a number of years and enjoyed assisting those in need and making them smile. Myrl dedicated many hours in serving the Lord and her community. Myrl honored the Lord in her daily life and she loved her family dearly. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her kind and gentle soul. Myrl is survived by her sisters, Betty Garcia, Martha Weaver, and Charlene Walling; son, Wesley Moenk (Janet); daughters, Anita Southwood, Andrea (Houston) Mayfield, Audrey Moenk (John Alden) and Chris Hassett, including 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Grace Hamlett; her husband, Andrew Moenk; daughters, Shirley Murray, Carlotta Calger and Lisa Ann Moenk, twins Joe and John Calger; sisters, Lucille Bivins and Marcella Hamlett and brother Albert James (AJ) Glover. A viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. and funeral services following at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013, at the First Southern Baptist Church, 11711 William Street Wellton, Arizona 85356. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church of Wellton. Born June 28, 1925, in Kingston, Okla., she was a farmer and homemaker. A visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at First Southern Baptist Church of Wellton, with funeral services at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Wellton City Cemetery.
